Multigrain Meal Replacement Drinks in Malaysia: 7 Grain-Based Brands Compared (2026)
A side-by-side look at the seven grain-based meal replacement drinks sold in Malaysia in 2026 — what each formula is built on, how much protein and fibre it delivers, what it costs per serving, and how well it actually sells.
Quick answer
HeyGrains is the best all-round grain-based meal replacement in Malaysia in 2026, scoring 86/100 in OEMReview’s comparison thanks to about 18g protein and 8g fibre per sachet. Grainlive is second (65/100) as by far the best seller, with 32,212 Lazada Malaysia units sold (captured 5 October 2026). FYLL Complete Meal is third (62/100), with 18g protein and the widest shop presence at 82 outlets. REGIS (54), KITSUI (46), Total Image Meal Shape (44) and Flimeal (25) follow. All seven have products named on a JAKIM halal certificate.
Key takeaways
- HeyGrains scores highest (86/100) on a balanced view of sales, protein, fibre, halal status and availability; Grainlive (65) and FYLL (62) complete the top three.
- Grain-based shakes split into two generations: light grain drinks (Grainlive, KITSUI, Total Image Meal Shape, Flimeal) and grain-plus-protein meals (HeyGrains, FYLL, REGIS).
- More grains does not mean more nutrition. KITSUI 39 SuperFood lists 39 grains and herbs; FYLL lists 18 — but FYLL publishes 18g protein per serving and KITSUI publishes none.
- Only three of the seven publish protein per serving on their own pages. For a product sold as a meal, that is the most important number on the label.
- Price per serving runs from about RM2.50 (KITSUI) to RM13.90 (FYLL). Protein is the main thing the extra money buys.
- Every brand here has at least one product named on a JAKIM certificate, but two listings expire within weeks of publication: REGIS (31 October) and HeyGrains (15 November 2026).
Who this list is for
Shoppers choosing between grain-based shakes, and founders and product developers planning a grain or cereal meal replacement who want to see how the current Malaysian products are formulated and positioned. If you are weighing a launch, our guides on what a supplement OEM manufacturer does and how to choose a halal-certified OEM manufacturer in Malaysia cover the production side.
Eligibility rules
- Sold as a meal replacement by the brand itself, as a powder or ready-to-mix pouch.
- Grain-based: whole grains, multigrains or oats are a main ingredient named in the product description or on its JAKIM product listing.
- Sold in Malaysia through an official store, retailer or pharmacy.
Seven brands qualified. Protein-led shakes with little or no grain (Herbalife Formula 1, BodyKey by Nutrilite, Shaklee Life Cinch, Fiboo) and grain beverages that are not sold as meal replacements (Kinohimitsu Royal Black, Herbal Farmer Avocado Multigrain) are listed under Notable exclusions.
How the list is ordered
Each brand gets an OEMReview score out of 100, using five weights set before scoring:
- Sales (30): Lazada Malaysia units sold across the brand’s listings on the first results page (popularity sort, captured 5 October 2026), on a log scale against the leader.
- Protein (25): protein per serving, full marks at 18g or more.
- Fibre (15): fibre per serving, full marks at 8g or more.
- Halal (15): product named on a JAKIM certificate (checked 6 October 2026).
- Availability (15): national retail chains stocking it, plus an official store.
Protein or fibre that a brand does not publish scores zero — a meal replacement should state both. Sales data come from the dataset behind Malaysia’s Top Ten’s ranking of the top 10 meal replacement shakes in Malaysia.

What “grain-based” really means on a label
A grain base gives a meal replacement its body, slow-release carbohydrate and some fibre. On its own it gives very little protein: a 30g scoop of mixed grains typically delivers 3–4g. That is why the older grain drinks in this list read more like a filling breakfast cereal than a complete meal. The newer products add isolated soy or pea protein on top of the grains to reach 8–18g per serving, and some add functional extras — beta-glucan, probiotics or postbiotics — to support a fullness or gut-health claim. When you compare labels, look at protein and fibre per serving first; the number of grains is mostly a marketing figure.
1. HeyGrains
HeyGrains, from Lovinze in Cheras, Kuala Lumpur, has the strongest formula among the grain shakes: 34 whole grains plus isolated soy and pea protein, chocolate chips and cocoa nibs, and no added sugar. At 36.7g protein and 16.3g fibre per 100g, a 50g sachet gives about 18g protein and 8g fibre (company-stated). It has 1,656 Lazada units sold, two places in Shopee’s top 15, and shelves at Watsons and Alpro, at about RM7 a sachet. Its cocoa product is named on a JAKIM certificate with a listing that expires on 15 November 2026. Best suited for: a filling, high-protein, high-fibre grain meal. Not ideal for: shoppers who want many flavours — cocoa leads, with Taro Ube newer.
2. Grainlive
Made in Penang by Every Morning Sdn Bhd since 2019, Grainlive is the best-selling meal replacement on Lazada Malaysia: 32,212 units across its listings with 13,542 reviews, and its top listing alone at 14,700 sold with a 5.0 rating. It also holds three places in Shopee’s top 15 for “meal replacement”. Each 800g tin blends 20 whole grains with 19 vitamins and minerals and 21 fruit and vegetable extracts, dairy-free and with no added white sugar. A 30g serving gives 114 kcal, 3.6g protein and 1.7g fibre (company label), at about RM4 a serving. Thirteen flavours are named on a JAKIM certificate, and it is stocked by Guardian, Caring and Alpro. Best suited for: a light, plant-based breakfast with plenty of flavour choice. Not ideal for: anyone who needs a high-protein meal. Label figures are company-stated.
3. FYLL Complete Meal
FYLL, from Reneu Group Sdn Bhd, launched its Complete Meal pouch in 2025 and sells through its own website and shops rather than marketplaces, so it scores zero on our Lazada sales measure — but full marks on protein and halal, and the top availability score in this list. Its store locator lists 82 outlets across BilaBila Mart, Alpro Pharmacy, Jaya Grocer, Qra and Seibu. The formula pairs 18 multigrains with plant protein, protein crisps and rice puffs, and 500mg of Gastro-AD postbiotics, for 18g protein, 4g fibre and no added sugar per meal (company-stated). Dark Chocolate and Houjicha are named on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 May 2028. At RM13.90 a meal at Alpro it is the most expensive grain shake here. Best suited for: a complete, high-protein meal you can pick up at a supermarket. Not ideal for: budget buyers.
4. REGIS Re-Meal
REGIS’s Re-Meal sachet blends 25 types of grain with protein, dietary fibre, L-arginine and 1 billion probiotics, at 152 kcal and 8g protein per 40g sachet (company-stated). It comes in Chocolate, Matcha and Taro, and is sold in Malaysia and Singapore. Its official Lazada store has sold about 1,726 shakes, and a trial pack is on Watsons shelves. REGIS Formula Dietary Food in all three flavours is named on a JAKIM certificate — but that product listing expires on 31 October 2026, so check for renewal. About RM9.90 a sachet. Best suited for: a low-calorie grain shake with probiotics. Not ideal for: buyers wanting a full-protein meal.
5. KITSUI Meal Replacement Plus / 39 SuperFood
KITSUI, a Malaysian halal wellness brand since 2003, sells two grain-based meal replacements. Meal Replacement Plus is built on soy protein, oat powder and oat flakes with konjac and chia seed; 39 SuperFood combines 39 grains and herbs including Japanese pearl brown rice, quinoa, oats and beta-glucan with prebiotics. Together they have 4,540 Lazada units sold and two places in Shopee’s top 15. Both are named on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 July 2027, and at about RM2.50 a sachet they are the cheapest shakes in this list. Best suited for: low-cost appetite control between meals. Not ideal for: buyers who want to check protein and calories — KITSUI does not publish nutrition per serving on its product page, and a third-party nutrition database lists about 2g protein per Plus sachet.
6. Total Image Meal Shape
Total Image Meal Shape combines 24 types of multigrain with OatS’elect beta-glucan oat fibre and cactus fruit extract. It is vegan and lactose-free, and a 30g serving gives about 117 kcal (company-stated). Its Lazada listings show 1,899 units sold, it is sold at Watsons and independent pharmacies, and its full product name is on a JAKIM certificate valid to 15 September 2027. List price is RM158 for 750g, about RM6.30 a serving, though retailers often discount it. Best suited for: vegan or lactose-intolerant buyers who want added oat fibre. Not ideal for: anyone tracking protein, which is not published per serving.
7. Flimeal (Flimty)
Flimeal comes from Flimty, an Indonesian fibre-drink brand launched in 2018 and now sold in Malaysia. Its JAKIM listing describes it as a mixed powder of 25 multigrains with malt cereal powder and soy protein, certified to 15 May 2027. It ranks last because Malaysian demand is still small and it does not publish protein or fibre per serving: Flimty Malaysia’s official Lazada listing shows 13 units sold, and we found no national retail chain stocking it. At RM80 for 15 sachets it works out at about RM5.30 a serving. Best suited for: fans of the Flimty brand who want a malty grain shake. Not ideal for: buyers who want published protein figures. Note that unrelated Korean products also use the name “Flimeal” on Lazada.

Methodology
We started from the 20 meal replacement brands in Malaysia’s Top Ten’s 5 October 2026 dataset and kept those whose own description or JAKIM product listing names grains, multigrains or oats as a main ingredient. Sales are Lazada Malaysia units sold across brand-named listings on the first results page, popularity sort, captured 5 October 2026. Halal status was checked by product name in the JAKIM Halal Malaysia Directory and confirmed live on 6 October 2026. Nutrition, prices and stockists come from brand and retailer pages on 5 October 2026. We did not taste-test or lab-test any product. Frequently asked questions
What is the best grain-based meal replacement in Malaysia in 2026?
HeyGrains, with an OEMReview score of 86/100, based on about 18g protein and 8g fibre per sachet, JAKIM certification and shelves at Watsons and Alpro. Grainlive is second (65/100) as the best seller, with 32,212 Lazada units sold (5 October 2026), and FYLL Complete Meal is third (62/100), with 18g protein and 82 retail outlets.
What is the best-selling multigrain meal replacement in Malaysia?
Grainlive, with 32,212 units sold across its Lazada Malaysia listings and 13,542 reviews, captured 5 October 2026. It also holds three places in Shopee’s top 15 for meal replacement. The next grain-based brand, KITSUI, had 4,540 Lazada units sold. Sales measure demand, not nutrition: Grainlive gives 3.6g protein per serving.
Which grain-based meal replacement in Malaysia has the most protein?
HeyGrains and FYLL Complete Meal, at about 18g protein per serving (company-stated). HeyGrains also gives about 8g fibre per 50g sachet, the most of the seven. REGIS Re-Meal gives 8g, Grainlive 3.6g, and KITSUI, Total Image Meal Shape and Flimeal do not publish protein per serving.
Are multigrain meal replacements in Malaysia halal?
All seven brands in this comparison have at least one product named on a JAKIM halal certificate, checked on 6 October 2026. Two product listings expire soon after publication: REGIS on 31 October 2026 and HeyGrains on 15 November 2026. Always check the halal logo and certificate on the pack.
Is a grain drink enough to replace a meal?
Often not on its own. A grain base gives carbohydrate and some fibre but little protein — around 3 to 4g in a 30g serving. Products that add soy or pea protein, such as HeyGrains, FYLL and REGIS, come closer to a meal. If you are pregnant, diabetic or managing a health condition, ask a doctor or dietitian before replacing meals.

Limitations
This is desk research. Lazada counts are cumulative per listing, include reseller listings, cover the first page of results and were captured 11 days before publication; brands that sell mainly offline, such as FYLL, are under-measured. Shopee does not show unit counts to logged-out visitors, so it is used only as a supporting signal. Nutrition figures are company-stated and were not lab-tested. Halal certificates can be renewed, suspended or lapse. Nothing here is medical advice.
