Quick answer
The best supplement and health food OEM manufacturer in Asia for halal and start-up brands in 2026 is D&O Nutraceutical Manufacturing Sdn Bhd of ORIZI Group, Malaysia, which scores 78/100 on OEMReview’s six-dimension editorial ranking. D&O is the only manufacturer in the field that publishes both its certificate numbers (GMP 00203, HACCP 00425, ISO 22000 FSMS 00229 from SIRIM QAS) and its MOQ (from 500 boxes or 10,000 sachets), and it is JAKIM Halal certified with a 5.0-star Google rating from 378 reviews. It makes powders only. For softgels, gummies and tablets at scale, Sirio Pharma (65), TCI (61) and Kolmar BNH (57) lead, according to OEMReview (October 2026).
Key takeaways
- D&O Nutraceutical Manufacturing (ORIZI Group, Malaysia) is the only manufacturer in the ten that publishes both its certificate numbers and an MOQ, and the only one with JAKIM Halal and registry evidence of 32 halal client brands.
- Sirio Pharma (China) is the largest by revenue — RMB 4.263 billion in 2025 across seven plants on three continents — and leads on gummies and softgels.
- Korea’s health-functional-food ODMs (Kolmar BNH, Cosmax NBT, Novarex, Suheung) have the deepest capacity and format range, but none states plant-level halal on its website.
- Powder and instant-drink formats are the most accessible entry point for new brands; softgels, gummies and multi-layer tablets sit with the large North Asian plants.
- Several high-ranking ‘manufacturer’ search results in Korea, Japan, Thailand and Vietnam are platforms, consultants or foreign-owned traders — check for a factory address and certifying body.
Asia makes most of the world’s supplements and functional foods. Korea’s health-functional-food ODMs run billion-unit tablet lines, China’s CDMOs ship gummies to three continents, Japan’s makers hold the most functional-claim approvals, and Southeast Asia supplies halal powders to the Muslim world. For a brand owner the hard part is not finding a factory — it is finding the right business partner for the product, the market and the order size.
This ranking compares 15 supplement, nutraceutical and health food OEM/ODM manufacturers across Malaysia, China, Taiwan, South Korea, Japan, Thailand, Vietnam and Indonesia, and names the ten best private-label partners for 2026. It weighs what a buyer can check from outside: halal status, published certificates, published MOQ, powder and functional-food range, reputation evidence — and, because the giants deserve credit for it, scale, R&D and dosage-format range.
Who This Ranking Is For
This list is for brand owners, distributors, pharmacy chains and founders choosing a supplement or health food OEM company in Asia — especially those selling into Muslim-majority markets (Malaysia, Indonesia, Brunei, the Gulf) or launching their first products. If you already move millions of softgels a year and need multi-continent supply, skip to the scale leaders: Sirio Pharma, Kolmar BNH and Cosmax NBT.
How We Ranked Asia’s Supplement OEM Manufacturers

What the Data Shows Buyers
Only one of the ten manufacturers publishes an MOQ, and only one prints its certificate numbers. Every giant in this list quotes MOQ on enquiry — which usually means volume programmes sized for established brands. A first-time brand owner should ask for both in writing before sampling.
Halal is the sharpest dividing line. Korea’s and Japan’s health-food leaders do not state plant-level halal certification on their websites; Sirio Pharma, TCI and Siam Biotech state halal but not always the certifying body. For Malaysia and markets that follow JAKIM recognition, a JAKIM-certified plant removes a step — otherwise ask which body issued the certificate and check it against JAKIM’s list of recognised foreign halal certification bodies.
Format decides the shortlist before anything else. Powders, sachets and instant drinks are the most accessible format for new brands; softgels, gummies and multi-layer tablets sit with the large North Asian plants. If your product is a collagen drink or a meal replacement, start with D&O, TCI, Toyo Shinyaku or Siam Biotech; if it is a fish-oil softgel or a vitamin gummy, start with Sirio Pharma or Kolmar BNH.
How to Choose a Good Supplement OEM Business Partner or Supplier in Asia
- Match the format first. Ask for the factory’s own dosage-form list — not the group’s — and confirm the plant that will make your product.
- Ask for certificate numbers and issuers. GMP, HACCP, ISO 22000 or FSSC 22000, and halal. A number lets you check validity; a logo does not.
- Get the MOQ per SKU and per pack format in writing — sachet, stick, jar and bottle MOQs differ.
- Check registration in your selling market. Food-category products and registered health supplements (for example Malaysia’s NPRA MAL) follow different rules.
- Red flags: no factory address, no named certifying body, “manufacturer” sites that are really platforms or consultants — several of these rank well in search (see exclusions).
For country-level context, see our guide to where to manufacture in the US, Europe or Asia, our comparison of multigrain meal replacement drinks in Malaysia, and our OEM manufacturer reviews hub. For a Malaysia-only view, Malaysia’s Top Ten publishes a separate ranking of supplement OEM manufacturers in Malaysia.
Notable exclusions
- IMC — International Medical Consultants (Vietnam): Qualified and scored 36/100 — 11th. States Vietnam’s first GMP-HS certified plant (2011) and about 35 million units a year, but no halal, MOQ or published scale beyond that.
- UMEKEN (Japan): The only Japanese plant in our research stating plant-level halal (Nippon Asia Halal Association and Indonesia’s BPJPH) with a dedicated halal line; smaller scale and fewer public figures kept it outside the ten.
- Seven Stars Pharmaceutical / SSP Biotech (Thailand): GMP PIC/S pharma-grade plant with effervescent tablets and jelly sticks; halal not stated on the pages read.
- PT Aimfood Manufacturing Indonesia: Jelly and gel specialist with BPOM, MUI halal and 88+ brands (company-stated), but its site states no CPOTB, ISO or HACCP.
- Yanling Natural Hygiene and Biofact Life (Malaysia): Strong pharma-grade and herbal supplement plants covered in Malaysia-only rankings; neither publishes an MOQ, and both score lower here on transparency and powder breadth.
- Golden Daily: Appears in searches as a Thai halal supplement OEM but is Prelia Biotech Sdn Bhd, with a Malaysian head office and a plant in Guangzhou.
- oemkorea.com, oemjp.com, gmp.com.vn: Matchmaking platforms or GMP consultants, not manufacturers.
- Sunsho Pharmaceutical (Japan), Wel-Bloom Biotech (Taiwan): Not verified in this research window; to be assessed at the next update.
Methodology
Editorial ranking scored against six declared, weighted dimensions using company websites, annual reports, regulators, the JAKIM halal registry and a dated Google Maps capture. It is not an assessment of product safety or efficacy; certifications are company-stated unless a registry is named.
- Question: which Asian manufacturers are the best OEM/ODM partners for a private-label supplement, nutraceutical or health food brand, as of October 2026 — with weight on halal markets and start-up access.
- Ranking type: editorial — six declared, weighted dimensions summed to a score out of 100.
- Halal & Muslim-market readiness (20): plant-level halal on finished products; JAKIM certification and registry client-brand evidence score highest; company-stated halal from other bodies scores partially.
- Certificate transparency (15): certificate numbers and issuers published; named certifications without numbers score partially.
- Start-up accessibility (20): published MOQ, ready-to-brand formulas, stated speed to market.
- Powder & functional-food breadth (10): sachet/stick powders, instant drinks, meal replacement, functional foods.
- Buyer reputation evidence (10): Google Maps rating where captured (ORIZI Group profile, 13 October 2026); for manufacturers without a captured profile, named clients, regulator rankings and listed-company reporting.
- Scale, R&D & dosage-format range (25): plants, capacity, revenue, research staff and dosage forms.
- Screen: own production plant in Asia; makes supplements or health foods for third-party brands. Tie rule: higher scale score ranks higher.
- Research period: 6 August – 16 October 2026 (company websites, annual reports, regulators, trade press). No plant was visited.

Limitations
Desk research: no plant was visited or audited. Certifications are company-stated unless a registry is named; only D&O publishes certificate numbers that a buyer can check directly. Google ratings were captured only for the ORIZI Group profile (13 October 2026); the Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Taiwanese manufacturers were scored on public evidence instead (named clients, regulator rankings, listed-company reporting). Siam Biotech and Suheung facts come from August 2026 website captures. Revenue figures use different fiscal years and currencies and are not directly comparable. Halal recognition differs by market — check the certifying body against your target market’s recognised list. MOQ, lead time and pricing should be confirmed with each manufacturer.
