Quick answer

UMZ Bioline Manufacturer Sdn. Bhd. (Ulu Tiram, Johor, registration 201701044253 / 1258426V, incorporated 4 December 2017) is the Bahasa-first one-stop group of this series: cosmetics, traditional products and health beverages under one roof, five plants claimed, and 135 active NPRA cosmetic notifications for 54 brand owners in a thoroughly Malay-market mix — lip mattes, minyak, soaps, feminine care. Its public reputation is unusually strong for this trade: 4.7 stars across 62 Google reviews. Two things to price in before you call: its clients average 2.1 products each, the thinnest repeat depth in this series, and its JAKIM halal listing carries five certified products — all of them pre-mixed beverages, with no cosmetic product listed at all. My verdict: endorsed for Bahasa-first founders in lip, minyak, soap and feminine care, with the halal question asked out loud first.

The one-stop claim, tested

UMZ sells itself as a one-stop centre — skincare, makeup, soaps, traditional products inside and out, coffee, goat-milk powder, baby care — and the public record substantially cooperates. The NPRA cosmetics registry, searched live on 20 September 2026, returns 135 active notifications for 54 brand owners with UMZ Bioline as manufacturer of record. JAKIM certifies the company under two schemes, contract manufacturing and food, on a certificate lineage running back to 043-03/2019. Three separate premises are visible on adjacent streets in Ulu Tiram, and the company claims five plants plus offices in Negeri Sembilan and Kota Kinabalu. For a founder who wants their serum, their minyak and their kopi handled by one group in one town, this is the most complete Bahasa-first setup I have reviewed.

The regulatory fine print, because one-stop spans three rulebooks: cosmetics run under NPRA notification; food and beverages under the Ministry of Health’s food-safety framework; and traditional medicine taken internally is NPRA registered-product territory, with MAL numbers and its own licensed manufacturing. UMZ’s two JAKIM schemes and its company-stated GMP, HACCP and ISO 22000:2018 stack suggest the separations exist. Suggestion is not evidence: the certificates page displays images without printing a single certificate number (checked 20 September 2026). If you are commissioning the traditional-medicine or beverage lines, ask to see each area’s licence with its own number, and ask which of the five plants runs which regime.

NPRA's QUEST 3+ registry: 135 active cosmetic notifications with UMZ Bioline as manufacturer of record, 20 September 2026.

What the registry actually shows

The 135 products read exactly like the Malay online market this factory serves: 21 lip products — a genuine lip bench, which most small factories cannot show — 20 minyak and oils, 19 soaps and bath products, 16 creams and lotions, 10 serums, 6 hair products, 5 perfumes, 5 feminine-care items, 4 baby products and 4 bidara or balm lines. Two sunscreens. The makeup menu advertises foundation and eyeshadow; the registry shows one of each.

Growth is real and accelerating: 2 filings in 2021, 3 in 2022, 14 in 2023, 17 in 2024, 42 in 2025 and 57 in the first nine months of 2026 — already the busiest year on its record. Twenty-five filings sit in UMZ’s own name, the house brands and the notification-handling service in the usual mix, leaving 110 products made for 53 outside brand owners.

Two numbers deserve your attention. First, the average outside client holds 2.1 products — the lowest repeat depth in this series, where the leaders run 4.8 to 6.9. Plenty of brands try UMZ; fewer build deep lines here. There are innocent readings: a market of single-SKU founders, and breadth spread across divisions the cosmetics registry cannot see. It is still a fair question to put to them: who are your five biggest repeat clients, and how long have they stayed?

Second, the client sheet is unusually flat in a good way: the top three outside brand owners — Superb Pharma (10 products), ND Viral (10) and Three Leaves (6) — account for just 24% of the outside book. No single client can take this factory down with them. Superb Pharma is a holder we have now met at more than one factory in this series, which is its own quiet compliment: brands that shop around keep including UMZ.

The halal finding: the certificate is real — but nothing cosmetic is on it

Let me put this as plainly as I can, because it is the single most important thing on this page for a Muslim-market brand. UMZ is genuinely JAKIM-certified. But on the public record, that certification is for its food side and its contract-manufacturing scope — not one cosmetic product is certified under it. The factory is real, the certificate is real, and the halal cosmetics you might assume come with it do not exist in the directory today.

UMZ holds a genuine JAKIM certification, listed under references JAKIM.700-2/3/8 (contract manufacturing) and JAKIM.700-2/3/1 (food), on the 043-03/2019 lineage. But when you open the company’s product list on JAKIM’s portal, it contains five products, and all five are Captain Roger pre-mixed coffee and milk-tea sachets, valid to 31 December 2027. Not one cosmetic product is listed. Searching the directory’s cosmetics category (Kosmetik dan Dandanan Diri) for UMZ returns no record at all on 20 September 2026; the company appears only under the contract-manufacturing and food categories. I requested the product list five different ways, one per category parameter, and the portal returned the same five beverages every time.

What this means in practice, stated fairly: the halal infrastructure is real and independently verifiable, and the beverage side is certified down to the product. On the cosmetics side, your halal certification would be your own application, on your own timeline, rather than something you inherit from the factory’s certificate. For a Bahasa-first factory whose customers are overwhelmingly Muslim-market brands, that gap between the marketing and the register is the single most important thing on this page.

There is also a calendar item. The directory record carries several expiry dates, the earliest of which is 30 September 2026 — ten days after this capture. Renewals are routine and doubtless in motion, but “doubtless” is not a word your halal file should contain. Ask for the renewal status in writing, and UMZ: when the new certificate lands, publish the number.

How that compares with the rest of this series

This is not a UMZ-only problem, and it would be unfair to write it as one. I checked every factory in this review series against the same JAKIM portal on 20–21 September 2026, and the pattern splits four ways.

Factory JAKIM company record Products listed What those products are
Qemrich Yes (cosmetics + contract manufacturing) 33 29 cosmetics across six brand names — the deepest halal cosmetics list in this series
Sky Resources Yes (cosmetics + contract manufacturing) 24 All cosmetics, but all under Sky’s own group brands
ENSU Lifesciences Yes (cosmetics + contract manufacturing) 15 All under its own ENSUTOUCH brand; no client product listed
Masha Yes (contract manufacturing) 7 All drink powders and food — no cosmetic listed
UMZ Bioline Yes (contract manufacturing + food) 5 All pre-mixed coffee and milk tea — no cosmetic listed
Domes Marketing Yes 1 A pineapple juice
Kyoumei Yes (contract manufacturing) 0 Certificate with no products listed under it
Tender Products Yes (contract manufacturing, 2009 lineage) 0 Certificate with no products listed under it
Ilaj Biocosmetic Held by a sister company at the same address — Certificate sits with the food-tech entity, not the cosmetics one
MYBH Manufacturing None found — No certificate under the company, its address or its house brands

Read the table and the useful distinction appears. A factory holding a halal certificate tells you the plant can run halal production. It does not tell you that a halal cosmetic has ever been certified there. On that second question only two factories in this series — Qemrich and Sky — have a cosmetics list of any size, and Sky’s is entirely its own brands. UMZ sits with Masha and Domes: certified, audited, listed — for drinks.

So the answer to the obvious question, is UMZ like ENSU: no, and the difference matters. ENSU’s fifteen listed products are cosmetics it makes under its own ENSUTOUCH brand, so the plant has demonstrably taken a cosmetic through certification; what it has not done is certify a client’s product. UMZ has not yet put a cosmetic on its halal list at all. If your brand needs the halal logo on a cream, that is one more step of work at UMZ than at ENSU, and several steps more than at Qemrich.

Marketing numbers versus the record

The website says “pengalaman lebih 15 tahun” and the company story runs to 2003; SSM says UMZ Bioline Manufacturer Sdn. Bhd. was incorporated on 4 December 2017. The years before that belong to the founders’ earlier operation — a common and honest history — but the current legal person is eight years old, and your contract is with the legal person.

On minimums, the company speaks with two voices. Its Bahasa serum page states plainly: “MOQ yang kami tawarkan ialah 1000 pcs dengan isipadu serum iaitu 10ml, 15ml ataupun 30ml”, and a founder-guide page promises “minima penghasilan dari 1000 MOQ, produk anda boleh siap dalam masa 14 hari”. The FAQ page, asked the same question directly, answers only that the MOQ “bergantung pada jenis produk” and that the company is “fleksibel” (all checked 20 September 2026). Treat 1,000 pieces as the working floor for a serum and get your own product’s figure in writing; a 14-day turnaround is a claim to test with a sample run, not a term to plan a launch on.

On the shopfront: the main Google listing carries 4.7 stars across 62 reviews — rare air in this trade, where most factories show a handful of reviews or none, and it exists because somebody at UMZ actually asks customers to speak. It changes your due diligence too: you can read years of strangers describing how this factory behaves when orders run late and when a first-timer does not know what a notification is. Read the critical ones especially. But there are three listings scattered across the Ulu Tiram premises, and one of them, the KOSMETIK card, carries a single one-star review as its entire public record, with the HQ card on one five-star review. Consolidate them, UMZ; you are letting one stray star speak for a whole factory.

Who should call them — and who should not

Call UMZ Bioline if you are a Bahasa-first founder who wants cosmetics, traditional products and beverages handled by one group in one town; if your line leans lip matte, minyak, soap or feminine care, which are this registry’s proven lanes; if you want a factory that will file your NPRA notification and talk you through it in Malay; or if you value a public reputation you can actually read before you visit, which 62 reviews let you do.

Look elsewhere if halal certification is your brand’s centre and you need certified cosmetic coverage now, because the directory today lists beverages only; if your brand is foundation- or eye-makeup-led, whatever the menu says; if you need English-language documentation and published English commercial terms; or if deep single-category benches matter more to you than breadth, because 2.1 products per client says depth is not yet this factory’s signature.

And the question to put to them first, in writing: my product is a cosmetic, not a drink — what exactly does your JAKIM certificate cover for my SKU, and what is the pathway and timeline to get my product listed?

⭐ OEM Review ENDORSED (with reservations) — The Bahasa-First One-Stop, 2026. Endorsement scope: Malay-market brands in lip, minyak, soap and feminine care, with cross-division ambitions. Reservations on record: a halal product list that contains beverages and no cosmetics; the earliest date on that record falling 30 September 2026; the thinnest client repeat depth in this series at 2.1 products; and a 2017 company wearing a 2003 story.

FAQ

Is UMZ Bioline one of the top 10 OEM cosmetic manufacturers in Malaysia?

You are asking my opinion, so plainly: no. Its 135 active notifications sit in the national mid-field, its client repeat depth of 2.1 products is the lowest in this series, and its halal directory listing covers five beverages with no cosmetic product at all. Where it earns its place is narrower and real: a Bahasa-first one-stop group with two JAKIM schemes, a genuine lip and minyak bench, and one of the strongest public reputations I have checked at 4.7 stars from 62 reviews. Judge it as the Malay-market one-stop, not by lists.

Is UMZ Bioline a real manufacturer?

Yes. NPRA’s QUEST 3+ registry lists UMZ Bioline Manufacturer Sdn. Bhd. of Ulu Tiram, Johor as manufacturer of record for 135 active cosmetic notifications across 54 brand owners, checked live on 20 September 2026, and JAKIM lists the company under its contract-manufacturing and food schemes. The company claims five plants; three premises are visible on Google Maps in Ulu Tiram. Visit before committing, as with any factory.

What is UMZ Bioline’s minimum order quantity?

Its Bahasa serum page states 1,000 pieces (“MOQ yang kami tawarkan ialah 1000 pcs”, for 10ml, 15ml or 30ml serum) and a founder-guide page pairs 1,000 pieces with a 14-day production claim. The FAQ page, asked the same question, says only that the MOQ depends on the product and that the company is flexible. All checked 20 September 2026. Treat 1,000 as the working floor for a serum and get your own product’s figure in a written quotation.

Is UMZ Bioline halal certified for cosmetics?

The company is JAKIM-certified, but not in the way most buyers assume. Its product list on the halal portal shows five certified products and all five are pre-mixed coffee and milk-tea sachets; a search of the cosmetics category returns no record for UMZ at 20 September 2026. The certification exists at company level under the contract-manufacturing and food schemes, so a halal cosmetic would be your own product application with its own timeline. Ask for the pathway, and check the renewal: the earliest date on its record is 30 September 2026.

What is UMZ Bioline best at?

The registry’s answer: Malay-market essentials. Lip products (21 filings), minyak and oils (20), soaps and bath products (19), creams and lotions (16), plus feminine care, perfume and baby lines — alongside company-stated traditional-medicine and beverage divisions that the cosmetics registry cannot measure. Foundation and eye makeup appear on the menu but barely in the register, so test those with samples first.

Can UMZ Bioline handle beverages and traditional medicine as well as cosmetics?

That is its pitch, and the food-side certification is the part with the clearest evidence: its five JAKIM-listed products are beverages. Remember the three rulebooks — cosmetics are NPRA-notified, food and drinks run under the Ministry of Health’s food-safety framework, and internally taken traditional medicine needs NPRA registered-product licensing with MAL numbers. Ask to see the licence for each area. A genuine one-stop group will show you three sets of paper without blinking.

How this review was researched

Sources, all captured 20 September 2026 unless stated: NPRA’s QUEST 3+ product search, queried live by manufacturer name, which returned 135 active cosmetic notifications and the full holder list used for the client figures; JAKIM’s official halal portal at halal.gov.my, searched in every category and opened at company-detail level; umzbiolinemanufacturer.com, including its FAQ, certificates page and Bahasa product pages, swept across 90 published URLs for commercial terms; Google Maps listings for all three Ulu Tiram premises; and SSM company registration data through a public company record. Screenshots and saved pages are archived with this review.

Method notes and limits: product counts are active notifications on the search date, so lapsed products are not counted and a product count is not revenue. A JAKIM company record certifies the company and the products listed under it; it does not certify products that are not listed. I did not audit the plants, test products, place orders, or accept material or payment from the company for this review. Certifications are reported as company-stated unless a registry record is cited.
